GTTC Academy code of conduct.
Code of Conduct
- Mandatory requirement for all players to present their membership card. All players entering the club facility must change into (in-door non-marking shoes/table tennis shoes).
- All players must exercise with care when using any of the club equipment. Players should not sit, lean, or put shoes on the table edge, or any form of abuse to tables.
- Keep the club and washroom facility clean.
- All food and drink must be eaten in the dining area only. Please clean after yourself.
- All members must treat fellow members, staff and coaches with kindness and respect. (Avoid disruptive or offensive language, gestures or behaviour)
- When the club activity is at full capacity, all players must rotate with the waiting players to allow everyone a chance to play. (30 mins interval)
- Smoking and gambling are not allowed.
- All players are responsible for their own health circumstances.
- All players are responsible for their own personal belongings.
- Violations of any policies mentioned above may result in suspension or termination of the member, as deemed appropriate by the club.
Friendly Reminders
- For first-time visitors, please complete the waiver form. For every visit afterward, remember to sign in and stay safe.
- No food, drinks, or coffee are allowed inside the playing area. Please change into table tennis shoes or indoor sports shoes before entering. Do not move the barriers without permission, and please return them to their original position after use. Help us keep the facility clean and create a pleasant training environment.
- When the club is busy, please follow the 30-minute rotation rule to ensure everyone gets a fair chance to play.
- Private lessons and the use of the ball machine must be booked and confirmed in advance.
- All GTTC membership cards and products are final sale. Please confirm before purchasing to avoid unnecessary issues.
- Please do not park in spaces marked “20 mins” or reserved/private spots to avoid being towed.

Tournaments At GTTC
Three ways to compete at GTTC Academy: our seasonal Spring and Fall House League, and the Monthly KaiQiu Tournament, open to players of every level. House league play has run continuously since Fall 2023, with a new season every Spring and Fall since.
2026 GTTC Academy Fall House League.
September 14 – November 27, 2026 (11 weeks) at GTTC Academy, Unit 10, 38 Metropolitan Rd, Scarborough ON M1R 2T6 (Hwy 401 / Warden Ave). Open to both members and non-members. Teams of 3–5 players, grouped into Divisions A, B and C by skill level.
Up to $6,000 CAD in prizes
Total prize money up to $6,000 CAD, awarded 1st–8th place. The names of the Champions of each division will be engraved on the GTTC Table Tennis League Trophy.

Prize money and trophy are based on 16 teams per division (max 16 teams per division). If fewer than 16 teams register, prize money will be 60% of the actual registration fee collected.
A, B & C
Division A — every Friday
Top 3 players' combined rating under TTCAN U5000 / KaiQiu Wang U5600; only one player may be TTCAN 2200+ / KaiQiu Wang 2300+.
Division B — every Monday
Top 3 players' combined rating under TTCAN U4000 / KaiQiu Wang U4800; only one player may be TTCAN 1500–1800 / KaiQiu Wang 1700–1900.
Division C — every Tuesday
Top 3 players' combined rating under TTCAN U2400 / KaiQiu Wang U4200; only one player may be TTCAN 1200–1500 / KaiQiu Wang 1500–1700.
Participants without a rating will be evaluated by the GTTC organizing committee. Each division plays in groups of up to 8 teams in a round-robin first stage (7 matches each); all teams then advance to a second-stage ranking tournament to determine the top 16. Tournament ball: Double Happiness (DHS) D40+. Team draw: Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 1:30pm. Groups A, B and C are drawn together the same day.

- Registration deadline: September 11, 2026 at 8pm. Team rosters can only be changed before 8pm on September 11, 2026.
- Register at the GTTC Academy Club, or via GTTC Academy's WeChat, or WhatsApp @Grace Zhang, @Lucy Xie, or @Sean Liao.
- The team captain is responsible for paying the venue fee.
- Upon registration, please e-transfer to gttcacademy@yahoo.com and include the team name in the subject line.
- Each team must have a team name.
- Registration is limited, first-come, first-served. No refunds once payment is made.
Format & rules
- Teams are open to all ages and genders. Each team is made up of 3–5 players.
- At least 3 players must participate in each game; all registered players may play. Fewer than 3 players present counts as a default, though friendly matches are still allowed.
- Team members who meet the team formation requirements are welcome to participate in competitions in multiple divisions.
- The team captain is responsible for team formation, collecting and paying game fees, starting the game on time, recording scores, and returning balls to GTTC after the game.
- Games start at 7pm. Players more than 30 minutes late forfeit their match for that night (subject to specific circumstances, at the organizing committee's discretion). No substitutions once a match has started.
- Seeds are selected based on the combined points of the top three teams from each group, per Canadian individual rankings / KaiQiu Wang as of July 2026.
Match order
Each tie is best-of-seven, following ITTF format. The singles order cannot be changed. Only the doubles pairing may be adjusted. In the same tie, the same 2 players cannot play 2 doubles games together; one player may play a maximum of 3 rounds but cannot play 3 singles games.

Round 7 is only played if needed. One game, each player serves once, sides change every 3 points, first to 7 points wins.

- By registering, all participants agree that they are responsible for their own physical condition and property safety, and will take precautions to avoid unnecessary injury.
- Participants agree to allow GTTC to use their photos and videos for promotional purposes.
- Friendship first, competition second. Mutual respect and learning are essential for participation.
- An awards ceremony will be announced later.
- Participation signifies acceptance of the ITTF Table Tennis Competition Rules and GTTC's competition principles. Once a competition begins, substitutions are not permitted; any disputes are first resolved through negotiation, with the final decision resting with the GTTC Organizing Committee.
- The GTTC Organizing Committee reserves the right to the final interpretation of these rules.

New participants: please create an account on WeChat and register for the KaiQiu program in the mini program. If you're unable to register, come to the club a few days before the tournament and we'll help you register in person.
